Tax
The Bahamas raises revenue differently. There is no income tax, no capital gains tax and no inheritance tax, but there are meaningful indirect taxes and fees. Working out that mix is what we do.
We advise Bahamian businesses on VAT registration and compliance, business licence fees, real property tax, stamp duty and customs duty, and we represent clients in disputes with the Department of Inland Revenue.
Internationally, we advise on how Bahamian entities and trusts are treated within cross-border structures, on tax information exchange under The Bahamas' TIEA network and CRS, and on the substance requirements that keep Bahamian vehicles respected by foreign tax authorities.
Cross-border experience
We work alongside foreign tax advisors to make sure the Bahamian pieces of international structures hold up under scrutiny in the client's home jurisdiction.
